“You mean I’m not going to hell?” the person watching the pride parade asked Bishop Egenstiener. ‘No, 'God loves you!' The Bishop of the Metro New York synod was carrying a sign saying God ♥️ You! The man reached out to the bishop and asked for a hug, and as he did so he repeated his initial question, 'So I’m not going to hell, right?' 'No!' bishop Egenstiener repeated, maybe a little more emphatically this time, 'God LOVES you!'"You can revisit the full article here: www.mnys.org/from-a-bishops-desk/this-bishop-loves-you/ #Godlovesyou #pride2023
Perhaps now more than ever God’s love and welcome must be proclaimed and shared to the LGBTQ community. Join us for the 2023 Pride parade on June 25th. HTLC will walk with other welcoming churches–carrying signs, wearing t-shirts, handing out stickers and flyers, giving high fives, and sharing smiles proclaiming that God’s love is for everyone. Meet at HTLakeview for lunch at 11a.m. following the liturgy, then we’ll go to the gathering space for the parade at noon. Children are welcome. Email Pr. Sevig to sign up for lunch.
