Following the 9:30 a.m. liturgy at HTLakeview on Sunday, June 11th, join us for a film screening and discussion hosted by Silk Road Rising.
Screening and Discussion of The Four Hijabs
Founding Co-Executive Artistic Director, Jamil Khoury, will be screening Silk Road Rising's animated short film, The Four Hijabs (running time 12:07). The film explores the multiple meanings of four hijabs mentioned in 16 Qur’anic verses and interprets them through Arab-Muslim feminist lenses. This is an entertaining and accessible opportunity to engage with the complex ideas surrounding the hijab. Jamil (who is also the film's co-writer) will be facilitating a discussion following the screening.
