Small Bytes: What Do Muslims Think about Jesus and Christmas?

Chicago’s Silk Road Rising is answering this question in the form of a play, Christmas Mubarak (“blessed Christmas” in Arabic). Most non-Muslims are unaware that Jesus is referred to in 93 verses of the Qur’an, and his mother Mary is the only woman given a proper name in the holy book of Islam. And they might be surprised that the Qur’an describes her labor and delivery experience with more detail than the New Testament. After worship on Sunday, December 19, Carol LaHurd will share video clips from a partial studio production and lead a discussion of Jesus and Mary in the Islamic tradition.

You’re invited to download and read these verses from the Qur’an in advance of the session, but it is not necessary to do so.
