Created to Create: Communion and Fellowship (Seminarian Reed Fowler)

  • 637 South Dearborn Street Chicago, IL, 60605 United States (map)

You are invited to a forum on March 14 after worship at HTLoop where we will be exploring the connection between creative/arts practice, and spirituality. It is one of my core theological beliefs that we are made in the image of a Creative God, and so are created to create. And yet we often hesitate to claim a creative identity if we aren’t working as an artist, even as we engage in generative practices throughout our lives. In the first part of the forum we’ll talk about the connections between arts practice and faith, and then in the second part, we’ll begin a collaborative process to make a tablecloth that can be used both on the altar and at fellowship hour. I have experienced this community to be one that takes the invitation to fellowship and welcome incredibly seriously, and with great joy. This tablecloth will be an object born of that fellowship! Join us on March 14 at 6:15 - all ages are welcome, and no prior art-making experience is necessary!
