Turning Our Stories into Song: Seminarian Sarah Krolak's Ministry Project

February 29, 6:15pm

Every week, we gather together for worship, using liturgy that is both ancient and new. We can expect something familiar every week: a greeting, scripture, word proclaimed in preaching, peace, offering, prayers, the meal. But liturgy is not only made up of the words we hear or things we do in worship. Our liturgy exists the way it does because of who we are as individuals and as community, because of what we bring to it. We embody our liturgy and create it together every week in this sacred intersection of all our lives and stories. For my Ministry Project this spring, I will be collecting all of our stories and forming them into an offertory song that contains the thumbprint of our community. We will start off this project with a forum on Turning Our Stories Into Song (Feb 29, 6:15pm), where there will be opportunity to learn about community as liturgy and to start sharing stories as a group. There will also be a variety of other opportunities to share your stories online and during receptions throughout the month of March, so be on the look out!
